Comprehensive
training
Starting with our “Skills to Foster'' course, you will get lots of training opportunities. This makes sure you feel confident and can develop your fostering career.
Dedicated
social worker
Your own support worker will visit regularly and give advice. They’re there to help make sure everything goes well.
Support day
and night
Our support line and out-of-hours team are always there to help, so you’re never alone.
Financial
support
Our allowances recognise your hard work and cover the costs of caring for a child. On average, our foster carers receive £683 per week.
Peer support
and networking
Our support groups and social events include monthly support groups, Foster Carer Association meetings and regular family activities. You can connect with other foster carers, share advice and build friendships.
Sleepover
care
We make sure you can take a break when you need it, knowing the children are well cared for. Our respite (or sleepover) foster carers offer short stays to a child in care that means you have a break without compromising the care we offer.
Holistic
support
We provide you with resources and work with schools to support your foster child’s education. We’ll also help you to access health services, including support/advice from CAMHS and therapy for children.
Ongoing
development
After initial training, you will attend workshops, seminars and online courses. This allows you to grow your fostering skills and abilities.
